Janusz Kochanowski is a great hearted Polish patriot. His career to date already clearly identifies him as a man of outstanding ability, integrity and intelligence with enormous academic authority who has already made a remarkable and lasting contribution to modern Polish society.

He was a truly outstanding Consul General for the Republic of Poland in London in the early 1990s going well beyond the normal constraints of that post both to promote Polish interests and also to build a remarkable circle of prominent Western friends who have been inspired by his enthusiasm and initiative to support Polish membership of first NATO and then EU and also a whole wider range of Polish causes and interests. Returning to his academic career in Poland he has continued to build upon that network of influence for Poland.

Janusz Kochanowski knows Europe well. He knows how European institutions work and he knows many of the influential figures throughout European society. He knows how to make Europe work for Poland.

We live in a world were "politicians" are, often sadly with good reason, despised as intellectually bankrupt, self serving and corrupt.
